This week I’ve learned how to create more effective advertisements as well as using the Google Analytics tool to track visiting patterns on my website. One of the tools I’m impressed with is being able to track the exact time of day and patterns that people view a website. I think this is very useful since we are using Google Analytics to enhance our AdWords campaigns. With this information, I can find out what day of the week or what time of day my site is receiving the most traffic. I can then focus my AdWords campaign during those more productive times. Inversely, I can see what times my site is not receiving traffic and reallocate my budget to advertise during more productive times or even put more money into the lesser times to try to boost performance.
Knowing how to boost performance will help me increase the quality score of my ad campaigns. Often, a go-to solution when an advertisement is not performing well is to get more specific. If I try to market too many products together, I make it more difficult for those truly seeking my product to find it. If I narrow my advertisement to a specific item or a specific promotion, link an appropriate landing page to that ad, and make the experience easier for the consumer, I’m likely to increase my quality score.
