This week’s focus was on SEO and social media marketing. Social media is has an ever-growing presence in our society. Facebook released a statistic that for every 5 minutes a mobile device is being used, 1 of those minutes is being used on Facebook. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, etc. are all useful tools in marketing a business. Some accomplish certain tasks better than others, however.
For example, Twitter would be effective for a brand that is known for personality or notoriety, or has the potential to gain a lot of notoriety. A plumber trying to market his business probably wouldn’t have a lot of success on Twitter. Running Facebook ads and having a professional Facebook page would probably be much more effective.
Did you know that Instagram is owned by Facebook? This was something that I heard about when the Facebook acquired Instagram, but had since forgotten. You can actually run ads cross-platform at the same time.
Videos and animation seems to be the new replacement for static photos. Instagram used to only display photos, but short videos have had a major breakthrough in marketing products on the app.
Using these technologies can be a huge catalyst to growing a business. Social media is everywhere and it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere anytime soon.
